Donald Keith Hamm, age 74, of White passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Monday, June 10th at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11th at Calvary Community Church in rural Elkton with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery at White.
Don was born on April 7, 1950, to Albert and Hulda (Quade) Hamm in Joplin, Missouri. He attended school and graduated from high school in Joplin. After graduation, he faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Don moved to Rapid City, SD, where he helped his brother on a college project counting groundhogs. Don then moved to Brookings to attend SDSU. During that time, Don married Paula Kolb. They had four children together. The couple later divorced. Don married Becky Klapprodt in 1997, and Don gained two bonus children.
Don worked for 3M from 1974 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Calvary Community Church. Don was also a member of The American Legion Post 88 in White and Ducks Unlimited. Don loved to be outdoors in a tree stand, hunting, fishing, gardening, or taking pictures. He was an excellent shot, and was referred to as Deadeye.
Survivors include his wife, Becky; children and grandchildren, Chloe (Jeremy) Ladson and their children, Jordan and Tayah, Garth (Jessica Immeker) Hamm and their children, Aliyah and Naomi and Adriane (Conan) Lammers and their children, Lucian and Logan; stepchildren, Dan Klapprodt and Dana (Ben) Culver and their children, Lincoln, Mason, and Boyd; siblings, Dave (Paula) Hamm and Bill (Linda) Hamm; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lucian; and sister, Betsy Ford.
