Dolly Ponto went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:00 p.m. on April 23, 2014, in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkton, South Dakota. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Elkton. Visitations will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Eidsness-Zink Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Dolly Christine (Stone) Ponto was born January 13, 1932, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Vaun and Belva (Hallem) Stone. She attended elementary school in Sioux Falls. They moved to Rutland where she graduated from high school. Dolly met Eugene Ponto at the Lake Campbell roller rink and they were married on June 7, 1952 in San Marcus, Texas. They lived on the Ponto family farm from 1961 to 2000. Dolly continued to live on the farm until 2009 when she moved to Brookings. Family and church were very important to her. She also loved to travel taking many trips by motorcycle and later by car. She is survived by Pam Judd and her husband Gene, Aurora, SD, Susan Baumberger and her husband Jim of Wentworth, SD, Cheryl Stacey and her husband Jim of Copperas Cove, Texas, Mike Ponto and his wife, Lori of Elkton, SD, nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, an infant daughter, Kay Jean, and her parents Vaun and Belva Stone.
