Deloris "Dorrie" Krumm, age 75, of Volga, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Hendricks Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 23, 2012, at the First Lutheran Church in Volga, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Sunday at the Eidness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Dorrie was born March 24, 1937 in Brookings, South Dakota, to William and Lillian (Dybdahl) Egeberg. She attended country school and graduated from South Shore High School in 1955. She continued her education at Northern State Teaching College in Aberdeen, where she received her teaching certificate in 1956. Dorrie then taught at 3 country schools around the Volga/Bruce area. She went on to receive her B.S. degree at Dakota State University in 1970. Her love of teaching took her to various schools including Arlington, Brookings and Sioux Valley Schools in Volga where she completed her career. Dorrie retired from teaching in 1994. Dorrie married Melvin (Dutch) Krumm on August 18, 1957 in Milbank, South Dakota, at the American Lutheran Church. Dutch and Dorrie made their home in Volga, where she lived until 2006 when she moved to the White Care Center. She was resident there until her passing. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga, and active in the Ladies Circle and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Volga Jaycettes, Volga Fireman's Auxiliary and various school organizations. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband Melvin of Volga; her son, Todd of Volga; her two daughters, Carla (Randy) Blaisdell of Verona, Wisconsin, and Jennifer (Chris) Jackson of Lincoln, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, Bryan and Kelli Blaisdell of Verona, Wisconsin, and Madeline and Emily Jackson of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister, Carol (Dale) Dorman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 6 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, 49 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; Lyle Egeberg and her twin, Donnie Egeberg; 3 sisters; Verda Krause, Vernice Dohrer and Ruby Waters; 7 brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
