Obituary

Delillah Elaine Moulton-Reynolds was born March 21, 1936 on a farm near Aurora, Brookings County, SD.  She passed away on January 3, 2017.  Her parents were Lester J. and Trudie Hinton-Moulton.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January  13, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Elkton with burial to follow in the Elkton City Cemetery.  Visitations will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Delillah graduated from the Stewart Hair Styling School, Sioux Falls, SD.  After her graduation she purchased a hair styling salon in Elkton.  She married Albert Willard in 1959.  This marriage ended in divorce.  Delillah returned to her parent's home.  At that time her parents were having some health problems and needed some assistance with the farm chores.  She later moved her shop to the farm and arranged her appointments so she would be available to help her dad with his farm work.  She was also a cosmetic sales lady for the Avon Company.

Delillah assisted her parents with their farm operation for over 20 years, taking care of them through many illnesses.  Larry, her brother, and his son, Larry Jr., did the crop planting and harvesting.  After her parent's death, she took over the farm operation, and became a full time Lady Farmer.  She continued to operate the dairy and also had sheep and goats.  Delillah loved animals, and treated them more like pets than future farm profit makers.

Delillah was very active in the First Baptist Church, at Elkton, SD.  She taught Sunday school and Bible School classes, and was active in the Woman's Ladies Aid Group.

In 1990 she married Thomas Reynolds, a neighbor.  He had six children, four of whom were still in school, Terry, Terese, Tashie, and Timon.  The oldest daughter, Trista, was in college, and the oldest boy, Thomas, was in the military at the time of their marriage.  This was a happy day in Delillah's life.

In 2001, Thomas and Delillah decided to retire in Mississippi.  They each rented out their farm and moved to Carson City, Mississippi.  Since Terry chose to help with the farm after he had finished his education, he moved to Mississippi with them where they had purchased a hobby farm.  He took care of their animals, and enjoyed gardening in which he gave away most of his produce to neighbors and friends.

Delillah went to meet her Heavenly Father January 3, 2017.  She was recovering from the amputation of her leg due to complications with diabetes.  She was recovering from this surgery when complications set in and she passed away peacefully with her husband by her side.

Delillah leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Thomas; her step-children and step-grandchildren.  Thomas Jr. and wife Rebekah, and their children, Sonia and Max; Trista and her husband, Mark Peitzman, and their children, Trent and Lauryn; Terese and her husband Jeffrey Anderson, and their children, Jenna, Wynter, and Brandon; Tashie and her husband Jeremy Wehrman and their children,  Kourtney, Cade, and Ben; and Timon and his wife Kari, and their children Zoe, Bree, and Ian.  Her sister and family, Jackie and her husband Harland Haug and their sons; Ted and Kaye Haug; and Rev. Tony and Marcia Haug, and their children, Tasha, Tiffany, and Titus Haug.  Among those survivors are many nieces, nephews, and their children, and a sister-in-law, Juanita Moulton.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lester and Trudie Moulton; her brother Larry Moulton, and his wife Alice; her brother Thomas Moulton, and a step-son, Terry Reynolds.
