DeAnne Olson, age 57, of Brookings, died Sunday, November 25, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the Brookings Wesleyan Church. Interment at the Colman Cemetery will take place at a later date. Visitations will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. DeAnne Susan (Poppe) Olson was born June 6, 1950, at Brookings, South Dakota, to Charles and Viola (Donaldson) Poppe. She graduated from Brookings High School and attended SDSU. On December 23, 1987, she married John D. Olson at Brookings. DeAnne worked at Spies Super Value and for 3M. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, and gardening. She attended the Brookings Wesleyan Church. Survivors include her husband, John D. Olson, of Brookings; two sons: Joey (Greta) Kilmer of Atlanta, Georgia, and Michael (Carey) Kilmer of Brookings; four granddaughters: Cela, Cyrena, Trinity, and Rachel; a grandson, Robert; a step-daughter, Sherri (Dan) Happe, of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; and six brothers and sisters: Rose (Roy) Hope of Sinai, South Dakota, Bill (Sandi) Poppe of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Don (Cheryl) Poppe of Jackson, Minnesota, Darlene Bakewell of Tyler, North Dakota, Dora Aanderud of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Dan (Sally) Poppe of Gordonsville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Shirley; a step-son, Stanley; and a brother-in-law, Gary Aanderud.
