David Skogen, age 56, of Rapid City and formerly of the Brookings area, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.  Visitation will be from 1-2 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10th at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in White.

David Allen was born February 17, 1966, in Tyler MN. David attended grade school in Brookings, SD. From there, he moved to a home in Redfield SD until 1994.

In 1994, David moved to Watertown where he had a roommate he enjoyed.  While David lived in Watertown, he worked at Pizza Ranch in the morning and attended day services in the afternoon at Atco. David took great pride in his job at Pizza Ranch and would often pull out his wallet and show everyone how much money he had made.

In 2008, David moved to Rapid City where he lived in a group home served by Black Hills Works to be closer to family. A few of David's favorite things in life were cheeseburgers, french fries, banana malts and Johnny Cash.

Grateful for sharing in David's life were his brothers, Neil (Kay) Skogen of Sister Lakes, Michigan and Doug (Wendy) Skogen of Keystone, SD; sister, Lynda Skogen of Keystone, SD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends David met throughout his life.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Skogen; grandparents John and Gladys Hinrichsen; aunts, Helen Graslie and Marie Jenson; and cousins, Brian Graslie and Sheryl Brown.
