David Quail, 70, of Brookings, passed away on February 7, 2023, at Touchmark at All Saints in Sioux Falls.

David Vernon was born to Phyllis and Vernon Quail on October 29, 1952. He attended grade school in Sinai and after the family moved to Brookings, graduated with the class of 1972.  On June 14, 2003, David was united in marriage to Zona Walter.

He joined the South Dakota National Guard and did his basic training at Fort Dix, NJ.

David was a lineman for the City of Brookings starting right after high school retiring July of 2012.

He is survived by his wife Zona, stepchildren Kelly (Kaela), Jenna (Ben), 6 stepgrandchildren, brother Dan (Nancy), sister Deanna (Rory), 1 niece, 1 nephew and a host of cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

David's greatest joys were riding his Harley, having a beer with friends and sitting in the driveway watching the sunset over Lake Sinai.
