David Grayson, 55, of Brookings, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Brookings Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Eidsness Funeral Home, beginning at 2:30 p.m. A time of visitation will also be held on Thursday, one hour prior to the memorial service. Interment will take place immediately following the service at First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings.
David Grayson was born on March 4, 1963, to Richard and Dorothy (Ripperger) Grayson in Madison, South Dakota. Dave attended school in Madison, until the family moved to Brookings in 1976, where he continued his education. Dave continued to live in the Brookings area until the time of his passing.
Dave worked at the Brookings Co-Op for approximately 10 years, until he began working in mobile home repair. Dave soon found a passion for working with his hands, and struck out as a self-employed independent contractor. He started his own business, Dave's Mobile Home Repair, which later became Midwest Restoration, and truly enjoyed repairing and restoring mobile homes.
Dave had many loves in life, but he especially enjoyed time spent riding his Harley motorcycle. He also greatly enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter months, and perhaps his greatest love of all was being a father to his three boys, Tobin, Collin, and Karsin.
Dave is survived by his significant other, Trish Harrison; three sons: Tobin, Collin, and Karsin; siblings: Dawn (Kevin) Harvey, Dale Grayson, Mike (Kara) Grayson, Michelle (Travis) Mix, Debra (Mark) Compson, and Jay (Katie) Grayson; Tim Schmidt; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy; and his step-mother, Bonnie.
