Daniel Robert Kampmann, age 59, of Brookings, passed away on March 8, 2023 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD after a courageous battle with cancer.  No funeral service will be held. A private family burial will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings at a future date. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daniel Kampmann was born January 27, 1964 in Brookings, South Dakota, to Robert O. and Mariann E. (Krogmann) Kampmann.  Daniel enjoyed cooking and sharing the delicious food he made with his family.  Due to his giving nature, Daniel helped his aging parents with any errands or assistance they needed on a daily basis.

Survivors include his mother, Mariann Kampmann of Brookings; three sisters: Karen Kampmann, Teresa (Koss) Delfinis and Bonnie Kampmann, all of Brookings; four nieces: Kristina (Jamie) Phillips of Aurora, SD, Brandy (Mike) Weber of Brookings, SD, Anthony (Mona) Kampmann of Sioux Falls, SD, and Karla (Ryan) Vomacka of Gillette, WY; and five great-nieces and nephews: Brady Kampmann of Aurora, SD, Angelique Kampmann of Lincoln, NE, Evan Vomacka of Duluth, GA, Gavin Vomacka of Gillette, WY, Mischa Janssen of Brookings, SD, and a special friend and classmate, Frank Vanderbush.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kampmann; paternal grandparents, Fred and Affie (Moulton) Kampmann; and his maternal grandparents, Fritz and Nellie (Stokes) Krogmann.
