Dale J. Barron, age 62, of Brookings, South Dakota, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the home of his sister in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in White with interment in Fairview Cemetery at White. Visitations will be 4-7 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White with a prayer service beginning at 8 P.M. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Dale James Barron was born August 29, 1940, to Alton and Mildred Barron in Brookings, South Dakota. He grew up in White, South Dakota. On October 8, 1959, he married Shyla Claire Dubois in Aurora, South Dakota. He worked as a foreman for the Brookings County Highway Department most of his life before retiring in August of 2002. He enjoyed hunting and stock car racing. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children, and his new grandson. Survivors include his wife, Shyla of Brookings; two sons: Cully (Amber & Kellen) Barron, and Brad Barron both of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Mary (Jerry) Lenz of Madison, SD, and Peggy (Pete) Thompson of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
