Constance L. Telkamp, age 78, of Brookings, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Brookings, preceded by interment at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.
Constance Lucille (Herbert) Telkamp was born November 14, 1931, in Moody County, daughter of Robert H. and Frances (LaFavre) Herbert. She received her education in Flandreau and graduated from Brookings High School. On April 13, 1952, she married Edward Telkamp in Brookings. Constance and Edward farmed on the east side of Brookings until her death. Connie especially enjoyed gardening and taking care of house plants and flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Edward, of Brookings; four sons: Joel (Debbie) Telkamp of Brookings, Bruce and Curtis Telkamp of Miller, South Dakota, and Brian (Stephanie) Telkamp of Estacada, Oregon; three daughters: Rebecca (Tony) Pereira of Malvern, Arkansas, Deborah (Wayne) Buffington of Sioux Falls, and Julie (Kevin) Loving of Brookings; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one son, Wendell, and one grandchild.
