Collin Johnson, age 39, of Brookings, died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at his home in Brookings, South Dakota. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 14, 2004, at the First Assembly of God in Brookings. Collin Glenn Johnson was born October 17, 1964, at Rapid City, South Dakota, to Lance and Marlys (Klinsing) Johnson. He grew up in Bozeman, Montana and graduated from Bozeman High School in 1983. He moved with his family to Brookings, South Dakota, in 1995, where he was employed at the Brookings Hospital. Collin enjoyed cross country skiing while living in Montana. He was an avid golfer, always looking forward to the Hospital Scramble Tournament every year. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to KISS music, and any activity that involved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Collin seemed to know someone everywhere he went, always greeting them with a joke and a smile. Survivors include his parents, Lance and Marlys, of Brookings; a sister, Tara (Steve) Hietpas of Brookings; nephews: Taylor and Aaron Hietpas; nieces: Megan and Annika Hietpas; a grandfather, Glenn Johnson of Walnut Creek, California; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
