Cody Joseph Hoss, age 25, of Ruthton, MN and formerly of Brookings, passed away on December 5, 2022, due to an automobile accident. Memorial Services Celebrating Cody's Life will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Cody was born in Aberdeen, SD on May 5th, 1997, to parents Frank D Hoss of Sisseton, SD and Beverly (Fly) Converse of Brookings, SD. Cody shared his short life with his fiancé Callie Mae Van Eck. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Cayson King and Coda Mae.
Cody had an active childhood playing sports. He played baseball in Toronto and football and wrestling in Arlington. He also attended summer camps in the Black Hills for the National Guard Youth Program. Cody enjoyed hiking, camping, riding the motor bike, 4-wheeler and horseback riding with his dad during summer months.
Cody's occupational history consists of odd jobs, most recently: electrician apprenticeship in Sisseton SD, working at the Cass Clay Creamery in Fargo ND, and lastly working at the Hawking factory in Pipestone, MN.
Cody had developed the love of music as a child and enjoyed playing and recording albums as an adult. He enjoyed watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the Chargers. Cody loved watching Pro- Wrestling, watching movies with his children, and being around family and friends. He also enjoyed having bonfires with his children.
Cody was taken from us too soon. He had a list of things he wanted to accomplish. Cody wanted be a positive role model for his children. He was looking forward to more trips to the lake and teaching his children how to fish.
Cody is survived by his fiancé, Callie Mae Van Eck; son, Cayson King Hoss; daughter, Coda Mae Hoss all of Ruthton, MN; mother, Beverly (Shawn) Converse of Brookings; father, Frank D (Sophia) Hoss of Sisseton; brother, Aaron (Kovu) Kelly of Orlando, FL; sisters Marci (A.J.) Gutierrez of Long Beach, MS; and Brooklyn Hoss of Sisseton; stepbrother, Alec (Moriah) O'Farrell of Milbank; nieces and nephews, Eli Lunneberg, Evalynn and Joel Gutierrez, and Kohanna O'Farrell; aunts and uncles William and Renae Hoss of Watertown; Frank (Dawn) Muhonen of Arlington, John (Gretchen) Muhonen of Iowa, and Dawn (Matt) Denison of California.
Cody was preceded in death with his son, Cameron, grandparents Carles Hatchell, Billy Fly, and Ferdinand William and Linda Jean Hoss; and his good friend Nicholas Lunneberg.
