Clifford Arlen Wright, age 75, of White, South Dakota, died Thursday, November 10, 2016, in Hendricks, MN. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the McKnight Hall in White. Visitations will be Wednesday from 4PM - 7PM at Zion Lutheran Church in White. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Higgins-Jessen American Legion Post No. 88. Eidsness Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Clifford was born on July 15, 1941, in Brookings County, South Dakota, the son of Melvin and Clara (Graslie) Wright. He grew up in the White, Elkton, and South Shore area, where he received his education. He served in the United States Army from 1962, until his discharge in 1965. After serving in the military, he started Wright and Rue Construction. Clifford was united in marriage to Judy Schuldt on February 4, 1967, in Bridgewater, SD. During his working years, he helped build the addition to the Zion Lutheran Church, Six Mile Creek Golf Course, and many homes and buildings in White. He continued working construction until his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and White American Legion Post #88. He enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting, playing cards, watching his grandchildren compete in sporting events, and working in the tractor for Rennich's. Cliff also enjoyed keeping the football scoreboard for the last forty years.
Clifford is survived by his wife Judy; his children Arlen (Robin) Wright and Terry (Paula) Wright all of White, SD; grandchildren, Jessica, Cassidy, Jordan and Cordell; his siblings, Clarice (Orlen) Borns of Milbank, SD, Jim Wright of Lake Preston, SD, and Richard (Lynea) Wright of Grenville, SD.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; one sister, Ann Petersen; his parents-in-law, Clarence and Gertrude Schuldt; brother-in-law, Marvin Schuldt; and sister-in-law, Darlene Horsley.
