IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cindy
Pedersen
September 14, 1960 – December 31, 2019
Cindy Pedersen, a longtime resident of Brookings, and more recently a resident of Walker Methodist Nursing Home, Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on December 31, 2019. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her many warm smiles as she greeted everyone by name and for her uncanny ability to share a boisterous laugh with a sparkle in her eyes that time and again demonstrated her resilience in the face of her many health care challenges.
Cindy was born in Brookings, South Dakota in 1960, and graduated from Brookings High School in 1979. She attended Mitchell Vo-Tech and loved working for many years at Daktronics. Cindy wholeheartedly loved her family and all of those around her (including her pets and favorite sports teams – Go Jacks!). She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and had many friends among the staff and residents at United Living Center in Brookings where she lived for more than a decade.
Ever since she was an infant, Cindy had to deal with so many medical issues. She persevered through all the challenges life gave her. And, like the good card-player she was, Cindy accepted the hand she was dealt and played it out as best she could. Now those battles are over, and she can rest in peace.
Cindy is survived by her mother Marilyn, who also moved to Minneapolis to be with her and was such a wonderful caregiver for Cindy over her life; three siblings, Brad Pedersen and his wife Kathy and his son Jesse and wife Rachel in Minneapolis, Joel Pedersen and his wife Jean in Lincoln and their daughter Nicole, husband Ryan and grandchildren Cierra and Milo in Houston, and their son Kyle, and fiancée Amber and her daughter Haley in Lincoln, and Jana Petersen and her husband Chris in Boulder, and their three sons Trevor, Hunter and Kaden.
