Chloe E. Benthin, age 61, of Brookings, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Brookview Manor in Brookings, South Dakota. Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Chloe Etta (Watson) Benthin was born October 1, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Richard and Margaret (Remley) Watson. She grew up in Oklahoma and moved to South Dakota when she was a young adult. On November 28, 1970, she married Ernest Benthin in Watertown, South Dakota. She moved to Brookings in August of 1988. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She took pride in providing years of child care for friends, family and neighbors. She was an active volunteer at the Heritage Apartments where she lived. She enjoyed all her neighbors and the activities she participated in while there. Chloe is survived by a son, Ron (Tonia) Benthin of Volga; two daughters: Marcie (Wade) Enstad of Sioux Falls and Lynette (Greg) Moore of Volga; two grandchildren: Tori and Dominic; five brothers: Richard (Linda) Watson of Enid, Oklahoma, Curtis Diel currently serving in Kosovo, Bruce (Deveny) Coryell of Amarillo, Texas, Dennis (Debbie) Coryell of Burlington, Colorado, and Gregory Topping of Bonair, Georgia; three sisters: Juanita Cupit of Sioux Falls, Janet Snyder of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Rose Penoyer of Clifton, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chaz, a sister, Diana Irvin, and her parents.
