Cheryl Ann (Boeckermann) was born July 6, 1947, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Born to Virgil and Josephine (Hafner) Magstadt.  Cheryl grew up in Parkston, SD and graduated from high school there in 1965.  Cheryl attended Southern State College and graduated with an education degree in 1969.  In August of that same year she married Alan Dobesh.  Together they had two children; Jeff and Jennifer.  They were her world.

Life's journey brought Cheryl to Elkton, SD. Cheryl was employed at Daktronics Inc. for 30 years.  During that time she made a home in Elkton and raised her children there.  Being a mom was her most treasured title.  It was during this time, in May of 1985 that Cheryl was handed a gospel tract that would forever change her life.  Through that tract she received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.  Her life was never the same.  Cheryl was very active with her church family teaching Sunday School, VBS and always being there to help wherever needed. In her desire to bless her children, family and others, Cheryl would willingly go without to lift others up.  And a blessing, she certainly was.

Cheryl also enjoyed gardening, old time westerns, Civil War history, TriviaCrack (with the volume on), but she loved nothing more than her grandchildren. It was so important for her to really know them and regularly made moments of one-on-one time with each of them.  She prayed for them daily, believed in them and loved them dearly.  Cheryl enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports and her granddaughter dance ballet.  For her, there was nothing better than being a grandma.  We will miss you, Ngo Ngo.

Those grateful to have shared her life include her son, Jeff (Danica) Dobesh of Durango, CO; her daughter Jennifer (Luke) Rahe of Lismore, MN. Six grandchildren: Nathan, Andy, Hannah, Micah, Joseph and Jack.  Her brothers and sisters, Gordon Boeckermann of Sioux Falls, SD; Barb (Roger) Myers of Crooks, SD; Glenn (Sandy) Nelson of Lennox, SD and Lynn (Gary) Hoellein of Sioux Falls, SD.  Many loved nieces and nephews, cousins, cherished friends and church family.
