Charles "Chuck" Weise, age 82, of Brookings, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will precede services at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Altar Guild at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Charles Edward Paul Weise was born March 13, 1933, at New Ulm, Minnesota, to Edward and Emma (Flygall) Weise. He was raised by his aunt and uncle near New Ulm, and graduated from New Ulm High School. On January 20, 1977, he married Wanda Hiniker at Spirit Lake, Iowa. Chuck worked for the SDSU maintenance department until his retirement. Chuck was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, and he enjoyed playing the trombone and reading history books. Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of Brookings; children: Suzanne (Jeff) Gural of St. Paul, Minnesota, Diane Weise of St. Paul, Paula (Michael) Lannon of Mankato, Minnesota, Kevin (Rachel) Weise of Mankato; step-children: Jeff Hiniker, Terry (Rita) Hiniker, Rich (Stacy) Weise, Jodie (Phil) Svennes, and Dan (Jonda) Weise; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lori Weise.
