Obituary

Funeral services for Carol Perry, 76, of Brookings, SD, will be 2:00PM, Friday, September 6, 2013, at the First Assembly of God Church in Brookings, SD. NOTE: Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Thursday, at the Church. Carol passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Neighborhoods at Brookview surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born April 18, 1937, in Bruce, South Dakota the daughter of Orele and Alvina (Lenning) Holter. She received her education in the Bruce school system. She was united in marriage to Loran Perry on September 6, 1954. After a brief stay in Stanley, ND, they lived in Estelline and Bruce, SD, before making their permanent residence in Brookings. Carol was a stay at home mom, doing what she loved, which was raising her children. After giving birth to nine healthy babies, her passion for children continued. This little country girl who was afraid to drive to Sioux Falls alone, made two trips to Brazil, and brought home a beautiful baby girl. She adopted two more infants from India, making her family an even dozen. Her faith in the Lord started at an early age and continued throughout her life. She faithfully attended the Assembly Of God Church where she taught children's church, and always encouraged everyone to develop their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband Loran of Brookings, SD; her children Doug (Yolanda) Perry of Livermore, CA., Keven (Deb) Perry of Brookings, Laurie (Dave) Schaefer of Mahtomedi, MN, Bryan (Diane) Perry of Brookings, Pam (Gregg) Stern of Brookings, Tonya Perry of Brookings, Joel (Denise) Perry of Brookings, Tricia (Steve) Henning of Sioux Falls, SD, Nathan (Stephanie) Perry of Dallas, TX, Kalee Perry of Sioux Falls, Lexi Perry of Sioux Falls, Dallas Perry of Dallas, TX; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother LaValle (Neva) Holter of Brookings; and one sister Carmen (Ken) Heppler of Mitchell, SD. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers (Leon, Rueben, Eugene). In Lieu of Flowers the family requests memorials be directed to, Children's ministries of Brookings First Assembly of God.
