Caleb Harlan Murfield, 22, of Lincoln, died Saturday, July 28, 2007. He was born to Loren & Sharon (Karlstad) Murfield on October 15, 1984 in Brookings, South Dakota. He was a 2003 Roosevelt High School Graduate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Caleb recently finished boot camp with the United States Marine Corps in San Diego, California. He was a Quality Assurance Specialist at Cabelas. Caleb enjoyed learning new things from reading, watching documentaries, and the latest technological advances. He was an avid Husker football fan. Survivors include his mother: Sharon Karlstad, of Lincoln; his father and spouse, Dr. Loren & Lisa Murfield, of Odessa, FL; brother & sister-in-law, Joshua & Caihua Murfield, of Lincoln; sister, Rebekah Murfield, of Lincoln; grandparents: Norma Karlstad, Volga, SD, Kermit & Arla Murfield, of Brookings, SD; his girlfriend, Emily Hoeller, of Lincoln; special friends, Kim Kennel and Matt Marx, both of Lincoln; uncles and aunts: Scott Karlstad, Volga, SD, Steve Karlstad, Volga, SD, Stuart Karlstad, Volga, SD, Diana Ray, Camden, SC, Dean Murfield, Madison, SD, Mark Murfield, Lenexa, KS, Stewart Murfield, Fairmont, MN, Twila Baedke, Sioux Falls, SD, Scott Murfield, Brookings, SD, Melanie Pazour, Chamberlain, SD, and numerous cousins and other friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harlan Karlstad. Services: Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 2, 2007, at First Lutheran Church in Volga, with interment and military rites at First Lutheran Cemetery, Volga, South Dakota. Visitation will precede services at the church.
