Brian Keith
Davidson
November 18, 1960 – May 2, 2026
Brian Keith Davidson was born on November 18, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, the firstborn of a set of twins. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Marion–Franklin High School.
Brian found great meaning and pride in his work at The Salvation Army in Huron, South Dakota. He enjoyed having a purpose there and was well liked by coworkers and leadership alike. Brian worked diligently at refilling salt and pepper shakers, filling napkin holders, cleaning and setting tables, and was always eager to learn new aspects of his job. His coworkers and lieutenant described him as a very sweet man who gently reminded everyone to slow down, care for one another, and take time to rest.
Brian lived at 1030 House, where he formed meaningful connections with his housemates and was supported by his job coach while he successfully reached his employment goal and caring staff through Center for Independence and Resources for Human Development. These relationships were deeply important and cherished by Brian.
Brian had many hobbies and interests. Reading was his greatest passion, especially mythology books. He also loved jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. Brian enjoyed baking cookies alongside his staff, watching cooking shows, going to the library, playing board and card games with friends, and relaxing while watching movies and television. He proudly volunteered by helping deliver Meals on Wheels in the Huron community, finding joy in serving others.
A memorial service will be held in the Salvation Army chapel, followed by a fellowship cookout outdoors. The service will be open to all who wish to celebrate Brian’s life, honoring the many friends and supportive individuals who shared in his journey and will miss him dearly. The gathering is planned for late May or early June, with details to be announced.
Brian is survived by his sister, Beth (Daniel) Black, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Stephens; his father, Luther Davidson; his sisters, Linda Marcum and Patricia Stedtefeld; and his brothers, Patrick Davidson and his twin brother, Bradley Davidson.
Brian will be remembered for his gentle spirit and kind heart, and for the quiet reminders he offered us all to slow down delivered with soft humor and the stubbornness that was uniquely his.
