Bradley Rodger Hanson, age 62, or rural White, SD, died Friday, July 29, 2016, at his home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 1, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Volga with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitations will be 5-7 P.M. on Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Brad was born on October 13, 1953, to Ellsworth and Dorothy (Quam) Hanson in Volga, SD. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Arlington.

On March 24, 1973, Brad married Linda Steever. They divorced in 1983. On January 17, 1986, Brad was united in marriage to Pamela Selleck. In 1991, Brad moved his family west river to open a trail ride in Keystone, SD. He then began working for the saw mill in Hill City in 1996. The family moved back east river to be closer to family in September of 2013. Brad and Pam lived on an acreage near White, SD, while Brad worked for the elevator in Toronto until ill health forced him to retire.

Brad had a deep love and passion for horses. He enjoyed trail rides and just riding for enjoyment. He also broke horses. Brad was never worried about material or fancy things. His concern was how you treated and cared for other people.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of White; children: Joe (Nicole) of Volga, Shannon (Shaina) of St. Onge; Tonya of Brookings; Steve (Jama) of Brookings, and Tony (Amber) of Aurora; grandchildren: Kimberly, Zachery, Dalton, Hannah, Bradly, Jessica, Brittney, Emily, Kyra, Kainen, Michael, Alectra, Jasper, Hunter, Devon, Breanna, Zadie, James, Alexis, Tyler, Kynslee, and Jase; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Myles, and Riley; siblings; Nancy (Dennis) Lanser, Kathy (Mike) Demaray, Joan (Doug) Tveito, Paulette (Tom) Bunker, and Jennifer Hanson-Brau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Dorothy; daughter, Nicole; and two siblings, Steven Hanson and Tammy Hanson.
