Bonnie Kay Knutson, age 52, of Sioux Falls, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Sioux Falls. A private family memorial service was held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment at First Lutheran Cemetery in Volga. Bonnie Kay Knutson was born January 31, 1962, to Otis and Helen (Nettleton) Knutson at Brookings. She lived with her family at home in Volga until she was four years old. She then resided at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Custer, South Dakota, from 1966 until 1996. DakotAbilities in Sioux Falls provided a home and services for Bonnie from 1996 until her death. She was well-cared for by the staff and enjoyed the outings and special things they did for her. Survivors include her parents, Otis and Helen Knutson, of Volga; two brothers and a sister, Ronald (Karen) Knutson of Volga, Cinthia (Craig) Kjellsen of Arlington, and Tim Knutson of Volga; and three nephews and two nieces. Otis and Helen are very grateful for the love and care she received throughout her life from so many people. It is impossible to list everyone who took care of Bonnie for so many years.
