Beverly J. Seas, age 72, of Brookings, died Monday, February 22, 2010, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 26, 2010, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Memorials may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Beverly Jean (Ahnberg) Seas was born January 9, 1938, on the family farm west of Volga, South Dakota, to Albert and Gladys (Roso) Ahnberg. She graduated from Volga High School in 1956 and then began working for the ASCS office in Brookings; she remained there for 30 years until taking early retirement in 1988 due to multiple sclerosis. On October 19, 1957, she married Roger Seas at Volga.
Beverly was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and was active in the Naomi Ruth Circle. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Multiple Sclerosis group at the Brookings Hospital. She enjoyed needlework, reading, painting and free-hand drawing.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Seas, of Brookings; three children: Tammy Seas of Burnsville, Minnesota, Scott (Kris) Seas of Brookings, and Shawna (Tim) Riedemann of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four grandchildren: Jacalyn Seas, Chelsie Seas, Emily Riedemann, and Nicholas Riedemann; and a sister, Sally (Gary) Marrone of Pierre, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
