Beverly M. Hesby, age 85, of Volga, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at First Reformed Church in Volga, with interment in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Beverly Merwyn (Harris) Hesby was born December 29, 1919, at Fox Lake, Minnesota, to Hazen and Lottie (Anderson) Harris. She attended the first eight grades at country school at Elm Creek District No. 39, and graduated from Tremont High School in 1937. She worked as a nanny in Tremont and Chicago. On May 17, 1941, she married Garmon Hesby at the Assembly of God Church at Sherburn, Minnesota. The family lived at Clinton, Minnesota, for 13 years, and moved to Volga on February 1, 1953. Beverly was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Ladies Aid, and Calvary Missionary Society. She had been a member of the Big Stone County WCTU. Survivors include her husband, Garmon, of Brookings; two sons: Gerald Hesby of Estelline and Joel Hesby of Boise, Idaho; a grandson, Timothy (Julie) Hesby and their daughters Thea and Mandi, of Dietrich, Idaho; a granddaughter, Heidi (Kevin) Larson and their children Eric and Emilie, of Harrisburg, South Dakota; a brother, Derald (Joan) Harris, of Sherburn, Minnesota; and a sister, Anabel Gott, of Cerritos, California.
