Betty Jean Barton was born on December 10, 1936, the daughter of Carl and Leora (Triplett) Golleher in Brownfield, TX.

God has used Mrs. Barton since the 1960’s in her Sunday school class and door to door to explain to hundreds of people how to trust Jesus as their Savior and, make Heaven their home. Her Sunday School kids loved her so much. Mrs. Barton taught second grade most of the years. It is good to see so many in church who have been taught by Mrs. Barton when they were little. Every week she served the Lord by finding people who needed the Lord. She prepared for her Sunday School lesson, sang in the choir, and was picking up people who couldn’t get on the bus. Betty worked in the Christian Academy wherever she was needed. As a wife, she worked so hard keeping a clean and orderly home. Betty even cleaned the yard and kept the grass and plants in good shape. She cooked such good meals for her family of five hungry people on a very limited budget. Betty drove her kids and other people’s kids to school. She always encouraged David in their efforts to serve the Lord and David cannot imagine what his life would be without her love, devotion, and encouragement.

Betty is survived by her husband David of 53 years; her children, Esther Even and Darlene (Donald) Brauner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Charles Brady, Wesley Brady and Donna Hammon.

Mrs. Barton was a wonderful wife and mother. She spent her life serving God as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday Bus worker, and encourager. Betty will be dearly missed.
