  Bette Watts, 78, of White, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at the United Living Center in Brookings. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at the Zion Lutheran Church in     White, South Dakota, beginning at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at a later date.  Visitations will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the Zion Lutheran Church, in White, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  

  Bette Lou Watts was born May 15  th  , 1941, in Pipestone, Minnesota, to Cecil James Tobias and Lucille Arlene Bradfeldt.  Bette was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Pipestone, Minnesota.  

  Bette grew up in Pipestone, and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1959. Bette married her high school sweetheart Gary Watts on October 20, 1959.  

  Bette and Gary welcomed their first child while living in San Diego, California, while Gary was serving in the Navy. Their second child was born in Pipestone, while Gary was serving overseas. Their third child was born in Pipestone after Gary was discharged from the Navy.  

  Bette and Gary spent 59 beautiful years together. They lived in Pipestone, Minnesota, Sioux City, Iowa, and Brookings, and White, South Dakota throughout their marriage.  

  Bette worked at SDSU, and in 1982 Bette and Gary bought the Wayside Motel. Working together for 17 years, until selling it in 1999 and moving to White, South Dakota.  Bette returned to work at SDSU, retiring in 2004.  

  Bette and Gary had enjoyed wonderful years together raising their children, traveling, enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

  Bette was a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV auxiliary. Bette loved working in her flower garden and especially her peonies.  

  Bette is survived by her husband Gary; children: Jeff (Lynette) Watts of Williston, ND, Deb Matson, (special friend Kevin), Brookings SD, Greg (Linda) Watts, Grand Prairie, TX; granddaughters: Nicolle (Willie) Beckley, Shandah (Robert) Terrell, and Alex Watts; grandson, Colten Watts; great-grandchildren: Devyn, Blake, and Serenity Beckley, and Brooklyn Terrell.  

  Bette was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers-in-law.
