Bernice G. Mock, age 100, of Brookings, died Friday, December 3, 2010, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7. 2010, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings, with interment at Graceland Cemetery at Madison. Visitations will precede services at the church on Tuesday.
Bernice Genevieve (Seid) Mock was born March 5, 1910, at Madison, South Dakota, to Irving William and Mabel (Keiner) Seid. She attended school in Madison and then worked for three years as a dental assistant. On January 1, 1931, she married Hugo J. Mock at Miller, South Dakota. The Mocks lived in various towns in eastern South Dakota. Hugo died in 1988, and Bernice moved to Brookings in 1989.
Bernice enjoyed reading, sewing, and doing needlework.
Survivors include her two sons: William I. (Louise) Mock of Fremont, Nebraska, and Robert J. (Marlene) Mock of Brookings; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Clayton and Robert; and a grandson, Richard Mock.
