Bernice F. Garvin, age 87, of Brookings, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the Neighborhoods at Brookview. Services and burial will be held in the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona. Bernice Frances (Ebbers) Garvin was born June 1, 1928, at Dodge, Nebraska, to Joseph and Anna (Schrage) Ebbers. She attended school at Dempster, South Dakota, and graduated from Estelline High School in 1947. She married Leo A. Garvin on April 23, 1950, at Estelline. They lived in Castlewood until 1957 when they moved to Tempe, Arizona, where they owned and operated Garvin RV Center until 1987. Leo died April 12, 1991, and Bernice then moved to Brookings. Bernice was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Survivors include two sons: David and Paul Garvin, both of Brookings, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters: Marchita Stark and Leah Garvin; five brothers: Joe, Al, Ed, Norbert, and Paul; and three sisters: Catherine, Rose, and Ann Marie.
