Bernhard J. Ben Kvinlog, age 92, of Volga, died Monday, August 8, 2005, at Brookview Manor in Brookings, South Dakota. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 11, 2005, at First Lutheran Cemetery in Volga, with military graveside rites by the Quail-Evenson American Legion Post No. 133 of Sinai. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Bernhard J. Kvinlog was born April 28, 1913, on the family farm in Oslo Township. He attended country school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945, during World War II. Following his discharge from the service, he returned to South Dakota where he farmed in the Volga-Sinai area. On December 9, 1969, he married Bernice Carl Brown at Volga. Ben was a member of the Quail-Evenson American Legion Post No. 133 of Sinai. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Kvinlog, of Volga; a sister, Pearl (Lewis) Nielson, of Volga; three step-children: Pat (Mike) Schuldt of Sioux Falls, Dusty (Jeanne) Brown of Madison, South Dakota, and Darlene (Jim) Smith of Norfolk, Virginia; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Alvina Dahl, Gladys Nelson, Adeline Bjerke, and Angie Kvinlog; and a brother, Milford Kvinlog.
