Audrey Roberta (Decker) Lundquist was born May 17, 1918, in Manchester, South Dakota, to Robert and Mabel (Donaldson) Decker. She graduated from DeSmet High School. She married Clarence E. Lundquist on September 4, 1940, at Lake Preston, South Dakota. Audrey spent one year in New York City while Clarence was in the service prior to being shipped overseas. They lived in the Twin Cities and then moved to Brookings in 1947 where she would remain for over 60 years.

Audrey was a Girl Scout Leader of Troop 12 for ten years, with the ten girls earning their curved bar which was the highest award at that time. She developed Friendly Greeting Service and called on all new babies and newcomers to Brookings.

Audrey was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 73 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron and Representative to Georgia from South Dakota. She was the founder of the Past Matrons Club. She was on the board that began Jobs Daughters in Brookings. She served many dinners at the Masonic Temple and chaired the Summer Festival Booth serving first BBQs, egg rolls, and tempura.

Audrey was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 55 years. While there she chaired several bazaars, the wedding committee, and the making of the Chrismons. She was chair of the altar committee and provided flowers for the altar many summer Sundays from her garden. She was a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Audrey loved gardening, and giving the fruits of their labor away, sewing, gourmet cooking, and entertaining. She loved sketching something she had seen, and she and Clarence would make it become reality.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Deedee (Dick) Odell of Rochester, Minnesota, and son, Rick, of Westminster, Colorado; four grandchildren: Suzanne (Corey) Hedrick of Lakeville, Minnesota, Jennifer (Jeff) Cadwell of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Ryan Lundquist and Megan Lundquist of Broomfield, Colorado; and three great-granddaughters, Addison and Scarlett Hedrick and Genevieve Cadwell.
