Audrey A. Lee, 83, of Brookings, SD gained her wings peacefully on September 9, 2018, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in White, South Dakota, and beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery in White. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., also at the United Methodist Church.
Audrey Ada Lee was born on March 13, 1935, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of Alfred and Verna Seas. She received her education in White, South Dakota, and was a graduate of White High School in 1954. On January 11, 1955, Audrey was united in marriage to Bruce B. Lee, in Marshall, Minnesota. Audrey lived in White while Bruce served in the Navy. After his discharge from the Navy, they moved to Marshall, Minnesota for several years, and later moved back to White. Their youngest child, Arlyn, died July 14, 1975, and Bruce died on February 6, 1986. Audrey continued to make her home in White until September of 2016, when she moved to Brookings due to health issues.
Audrey was a member of the United Methodist Church in White, and held several offices including the Church Board Membership Secretary for 26 years, as well as acting as a Sunday school and Bible School teacher. She also served on the Fairview Cemetery Association Board, and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.
Audrey believed in the power of angels. She collected angel figurines and crocheted hundreds of angels throughout the years. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren, reading, sewing, gardening, and working on Sudoku puzzles.
Audrey is survived by her son, Curtis B. Lee, of Brookings; daughter, Kathy (Mark) McDougall, of Brookings; twin grandchildren Cole and Kara McDougall; sister-in-law Ilene Seas, of Wichita, KS; nieces and nephews; and close cousin Norma Johnson, of Albuquerque, NM. Audrey is also survived by her good friend Viola Robbins, of White.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; son, Arlyn; parents, Alfred and Verna Seas; brother, Barron Seas; sister, Ardis Alberts; and brother-in-law, Vern Alberts.
