Anna Marie Strom, age 91, of Brookings and formerly of White, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 7, 2020, at Zion Lutheran Church in White with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Anna Marie's funeral will be recorded and uploaded on the Eidsness Funeral Home website under her obituary later on Monday. Visitations will be Sunday December 6, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Masks are required at the funeral home and strongly encouraged at the church in White.

Anna Marie was born on October 9, 1929, the daughter of Harry and Jennie (Heeren) Broekhuizen in Chicago, IL. She moved with her parents to South Dakota at the age of eight months. Anna Marie received her education in country school, and graduated from the White High School in 1947.

Anna Marie was united in marriage to Aldon Strom on November 29, 1947. After their marriage they farmed near Harrisburg, SD for eight years until 1956, when they moved to a farm north of White, SD. In 1994, they moved to White. In 2015, Aldon and Anna Marie moved to Brookings, SD.

While on the farm, Anna Marie helped with field work, milking cows, and feeding the cattle. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in White. Anna Marie enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, David (Priscilla) Strom of Brookings, Marvin (Phyllis) Strom of Rapid City, Larry (Valerie) Strom of San Antonio, TX, and Richard (Kristi) Strom of White; nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aldon in February of 2020, and her brother, John Broekhuizen.
