Allan Clifford Anundson, age 82, of Volga, died Thursday, January 27, 2005, at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 31, 2005, at First Lutheran Church in Volga with interment in the church cemetery. Visitations will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga and preceding services at the church on Monday. Allan Clifford Anundson was born September 23, 1922, at Volga, South Dakota to John and Dagmar (Christensen) Anundson. He attended school in Volga and graduated from Volga High School in 1941. On June 7, 1942, he married Lorraine Granum in Wyandotte, Michigan. Allan served in the Infantry Corps and the United States Army Air Corps. He was a pilot of a P52 plane and trained others to fly. Allan worked at Kresges store and Anundson grocery store with his father. He started and sold Lady Lynnal nectar, was a local carpenter, and sold real estate. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga where he served as treasurer. He was a Volga Volunteer Fireman and American Legion member. He especially enjoyed making handcrafted wood items, reading, and loved the game of golf. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy life! Survivors include three daughters: Bethany (David) Swenning of Fairmont, Minnesota, Lynall (Bob) Nelson of Volga, and Peggy (Dean) Balsiger of Brookings; eight grandchildren: Kristen (Scott) Seas of Brookings, Barry (Cathy) Swenning and John (Sheri) Swenning both of Iowa City, Iowa, Nancy (Trevor) McDonald of Chamberlain, South Dakota, Paul (Brenda) Nelson and Danny (Tracy) Nelson both of Volga, LoriAnne (Travis) Andersen of Lennox, South Dakota, and Scott (Lisa) Brunk of Crooks, South Dakota; thirteen great-grandchildren: Brooke, Brittney, Brady, Kyle, Kate, Emma, Grace, Nicholas, Jacalyn, Chelsie, Macy, Morgan, and Mariah; a brother, John K. Anundson of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters: Ruth Church of Spencer, Iowa and Annebelle VanCamp of Burton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Lorraine.
