Aldred Monteith, age 87, of Brookings, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Avalon Care Center in Federal Way, Washington. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 14, 2007, at First Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in First Lutheran Cemetery at Brookings. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Aldred (Peterson) Monteith was born April 19, 1919, at Webster, South Dakota, to Henry C. and Clara (Amundson) Peterson. She graduated from Webster High School. On May 23, 1942, she married Leo Monteith at Lily, South Dakota. The Monteiths lived in Brookings, where Aldred was a sales representative for Stanley Home Products. Leo died March 25, 1999. Aldred was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brookings where she was an officer in First Lutheran Church Women. She also was a member of the Garden Club Survivors include five brothers: Marvid Peterson of Webster, South Dakota, Hiram Peterson of Mora, Minnesota, Almond (Marlys) Peterson of Cottonwood, Arizona, Voyle Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Kennard (Marie) Peterson of Tacoma, Washington; and a sister, Henrietta (Ray) Anderson of Henderson, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers: Burnell, Orville, Clinton, and Curtis; and two sisters: Eunice Stadsklev and Doreen Hubert.
