Obituary

Addie June Adams from Brookings, South Dakota, has gone into the arms of Jesus and those she loved. Born July 31, 1988, Addie was a very adventurous child and a tomboy. Growing up on an acreage outside Havre, Montana, Addie was big into running through the field, climbing trees, riding 4-wheelers, making fires, learning survival, and camping with her father in the woods. She attended grade school on the hi-line around Havre, returning there to attend high school. Addie was a musician and singer, participating in both choir and band. Through her love of music, she learned the guitar from an excellent English woman. Addie participated in recitals and not only was taught a love of music and participated in recitals. She also fell in love with jigsaw puzzles and cups of real English tea made right. After high school, she expanded her love of music and was part of the Ambassadors Of Music touring Europe, putting on concerts.

After she toured Europe, Addie obtained a CNA certification and started working at a local nursing home. She stopped that work and started college at Montana State University-Northern in Havre. She was an active member of the local Chi Alpha group partaking in many activities on campus and doing volunteer projects. After two years at Montana State University, Northern Addie transferred to the University Of Montana Western in Dillon, Montana. While there, she was a member of theatre both at the University Of Montana Western and Cutler Brothers Theatre in Deer Lodge, Montana, participating in Oklahoma, Little Women, and Mary Poppins. Between summers at the University Of Montana Western, Addie was a wildlands firefighter in Wisdom, Montana, and a boat inspector for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in Dillon. She had many good memories while in Dillon of hiking, fishing, kayaking, and other good memories on and off campus. After three years, Addie obtained her associate of science in Biology and Geology from the University of Montana Western. She attended Oregon State University online for a conservation biology degree but did not finish.

After college, she returned to CNA work in various nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She branched out and work at Benfis Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, as a CNA in a med surge helping Covid patients and worked on a roving CNA unit. While there, Addie loved observing and learning from those around her and was trolling for any good cases. Addie moved to South Dakota in 2021 and settled in Brookings, working in home health as a caregiver. She had a zeal for her job and found her true calling in home health, giving one-on care and loving her clients. All her clients loved her, and they would complain if she couldn't see them. Addie had a heart of gold but wasn't afraid to stand up to others and tell it like it was. Many people will miss her.

Addie is preceded in death by her grandparents Ray & June Brady, Bert & Eva Adams, and her aunt Sandra Adams. She is survived by her parents, Lou and Larry Adams,  Sister, and Brother-In-Law, Angela "Adams" & Scott Gregorich, Niece Kiana, and Nephews Owen, Jack, Luke, and Gabriel Gregorich.

Following Addie's wishes, there will be no local services held at this time.
