Life Legacy

Frances Kracke, age 77, of White, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Hendricks Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 14, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church in White, with interment in Fairview Cemetery at White. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White.

Frances Charlotte (Tirrel) Kracke was born November 7, 1933, in Argo Township, Brookings County, to Stienus and Martha (Kruger) Tirrel. She attended Argo District No. 24 country school and White High School. She was employed at the White Locker for a year, the White Creamery for two years, the Redwood Steak House for two years, 3M in Brookings for 29 years, and the White Healthcare Center for nine years.

On April 23, 1951, Frances married Wallace Bud Kracke at Brookings. They farmed near White until 1985, and moved into White in 1993. Bud died November 16, 1995.

Frances was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in White and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, reading, puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.

` Survivors include five children: Diane (David) Hintz of Brookings, JoAnn Mathis of Elkton, Daniel Kracke of Toronto, Duane Kracke of White, and Pamela Gordon of Atwater, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her mother, Martha Tirrel, of White; three sisters: Thelma Peters of Little Rock, Iowa, Marjorie Prunty of Brookings, and Dorothy Sletten of Custer, South Dakota; five brothers: Glen Tirrel of Toronto, John (Genie) Tirrel of White, Stanley (Janice) Tirrel of White, David (Penny) Tirrel of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Robert (Sherry) Tirrel of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; father; son Steven; and a brother, James.
